This was a day of headlands and crossings – an unashamed head down and get some miles in. A long day was planned, with the aim being to put us in a position for going round Malin Head.
We were, to be honest, a little bit disjointed as a group. A combination of the last six weeks or so, fairly benign conditions, plus the possibility of Malin Head the following day. Whilst Malin Head was one of the crux points, getting round it brought the prospect of the ‘home straight’, and thoughts of finishing, home, family etc … The paddling was almost secondary.
We only really stopped once, for a quick bite at lunchtime.

Hmmm…. the home straight comes with its own set of future challenge but what a way to meet them with such an adventure shared.
